Railway complex has particular strategic importance for Russia. It is a link of unified economic system, ensures stable operations of industrial enterprises, timely supply of vital railway freight to the uttermost ends of the country, and is the most accessible means of transport for millions of people.
In compliance with Structural reform program for railway transport, approved by the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation (May 21, 2001 № 384), railway sector reform is currently taking place. Structural reform is designed to provide for social and economic development of the country, transport services quality improvement, efficiency upgrading of transportation and investment attractiveness of Russian railways.
Russian Register offers the following services for railway sector organizations:

• IRIS business management systems certification of railway industry enterprises;


• certification of quality, environmental, occupational health and safety management systems with RvA international accreditation;


• integrated management systems certification, developed in compliance with the requirements of several international or national standards;


• products certification in GOST R and RR system;


• personnel training on programs, conforming to the requirements of International Personnel Certification Association (IPC).
