API Spec Q1 / API Spec Q2
SPECIFICATION FOR QUALITY PROGRAMS FOR THE PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS INDUSTRY
Industry-oriented standard API Spec Q1 / API Spec Q2 includes, apart from requirements, outlined in ISO 9001:2008, specific requirements, related to oil and gas industry. Companies, that implemented this Specification, can demonstrate their clients, that they meet the latest industry requirements.
API Q2 Standard – a new standard for management systems for services suppliers in oil and gas industry and repair contractors. APIQ2 requirements include (apart from international standard ISO 9001:2008 requirements) specific oil and gas industry-related requirements.
PLEASE NOTE that a new version of API Spec Q1 standard has been published (version 9). Transition plan to a new version 9 of the standard provides for the following steps:
1) June – November 2013– audits are conducted for compliance with API Spec Q1, version 8. Companies-applicants are recommended to undergo training for overview of the requirements of new version 9 of the standard.
2) December 2013– May 2014 года – audits are conducted for compliance with API Spec Q1, version 9. For current API clients nonconformities against the requirements of a new version of the standard will be identified as “observations”, not resulting in the analysis of Organization corrective actions’ effectiveness.
For new clients-applicants (since March 2014) – audits are conducted in full compliance with the requirements of API Spec Q1, version 9. Non-fulfillment of standard requirements will be identified as critical nonconformities, requiring provision of corrective and preventive actions plan through myCerts system.
3) June 2014 – all clients, certifying quality management system and equipment against API programs, shall implement all API Spec Q1, version 9 requirements.

- additional reason for banks and insurance companies in determination of credit and insurance size and conditions.
